Everyone wants a number. The honest answer is that it depends, but here is exactly what it depends on, so you can spot a fair quote from a scary one.

Mold remediation is priced by the job because no two are alike. A small bathroom patch and a whole flooded crawlspace are not the same work. Anyone who quotes you a firm number over the phone without seeing it is guessing, and that guess usually protects them, not you.
Four things drive almost every quote. First, the size of the affected area, more growth means more labor and materials. Second, the location, a finished basement wall is easier to reach than a tight crawlspace or attic. Third, the materials involved, removing and replacing drywall, flooring, or insulation adds cost. Fourth, and most important, the moisture source, because fixing the leak, grading, or humidity that caused the mold is what keeps it from coming back. A cheap quote that skips the moisture fix is not cheap, it is temporary.
When you get more than one quote, make sure they cover the same scope. Does the price include finding and fixing the moisture source, or just wiping the visible mold? Does it include containment so spores do not spread? Is post-remediation testing available if you want proof? A higher quote that solves the cause often costs less than a low one you pay twice. Our inspection and written quote are free, so you can compare with real numbers.
Most jobs touch more than one of these. We handle them under one roof.
